Achim Steiner
Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme
Achim Steiner is a Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme at the United Nations since 2017. Previously, he worked for the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Southern Africa and Washington, D.C. (1991-1997). Steiner was, afterwards, employed as a Chief Technical Adviser of the Mekong River Commission (1997–1998) before becoming Secretary-General of the World Commission on Dams. He served as Director General of the IUCN (2001-2009), Director-General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi (2009-2011) and Executive Director of UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (2010-2016).
